How to Change Visual Studio 2012 ALL-CAPS Menu to Mixed-Case

After installing the new Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, you may find yourself looking at and hating the ALL-CAPS MENU that Microsoft has decided to employ.

This blog article will show you how to change the menu back to Upper and Lowercase.

  1. Go to Command Prompt
  2. Regedit.exe
  3. Find the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    \Software
    \Microsoft
    \VisualStudio
    \11.0
    \General
  4. Create a new key called SuppressUppercaseConversion
  5. REG_DWORD value: 1

Restart Visual Studio 2012 and it will look like this:
