The Jerk (1979)

As fans of Steve Martin, we bought one of his classic movies titled The Jerk from the Walmart bin.  This movie was laugh-out-loud hilarious!

The movie is about a white “kid” named Navin R. Johnson (Steve Martin).  He grew up in Mississippi as adopted son of a poor black family.  But at his 18th birthday, he feels he wants to discover the rest of the world (and his “special purpose”) and sets out to St. Louis.  Navin is an imbecile. Everyone takes advantage of him because of his naivety. Unexpectedly, a simple invention brings him fame and fortune!

Even though it was film in 1979, it is still very funny today.  We highly recommend this heart-warming comedy.

Be sure to check out this beautiful song from this movie, titled “Tonight You Belong To Me“!

  1. One of the craziest, silly, and over-the-top comedies I have ever seen but in a good way, with one of the best Steve Martin performances ever! Good review, check out mine when you can!
